Cheerful Giving

To date, Others has donated $21,079 to local and international organizations.

Others is teaming up with The Adventure Project in 2017 to donate 100% of year-end store profit to support job creation in developing countries.  What people want most in the world is not a handout, it's a good job.  Jobs grow local communities, reduce violence, and enable families to lead healthier lives.  The Adventure Project provides the tools and training to allow men and women to become profitable entrepreneurs and to care for their families, buy healthy food, visit the doctor and send their kids to school.  From training well mechanics, who fix broken wells, to educating community health workers, who revolutionize healthcare in Africa, your support transforms the lives of entrepreneurs and the communities they serve.

The year-end profit from Others in 2016 was gifted to charity: water, providing clean water to 100 people across the globe. Why water?  663 million people in the world live without clean drinking water.  That is nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide.  The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their families.  Clean water can save time, prevent unnecessary deaths, and improve health. It enables people to escape the cycle of poverty and be energetic members of society.

In 2015, Others partnered with the iF Foundation to provide a year of nutritious breakfast for the 180 students attending the Ebenezer School in Bordes, Haiti.  Education in Haiti is not free, and if parents can afford to send their children to school, most cannot afford to provide even one balanced meal a day. Providing meals in the classroom better equips the children to learn and encourages parents to send their children to school rather than work in unsafe conditions.
